Default Brake lights

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum.My son has a 97 camry and I just put new caliper on it and I noticed that he has no brake lights in rear the 1 in the back window works fine.I went and put new bulbs in still no lights.The tail lights are working fine,He's not sure how long the lights have been out.Indicator on dash shows trouble. Any help would be great this is strange to me that the top wors and not the backs Thanks in advance Joe

theres a module behind the trunk trim that controls the taillights its probably bad its yellow and usually on the drivers side

I dont think so. however i'm pretty sure its rather inexpensive. i did one in my 94 camry before i sold it thats the only reason i know about it. i think it cost me 7 dollars at the scrap yard

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON MY 88 CAMRY. DO THEY HAVE THE YELLOW MODULE ALSO?
