Toyota Camry 2007-2011: How to Program Garage Door Opener (HomeLink)
Having to manually open and close your garage door can be a hassle, especially when the weather isn't ideal. Fortunately, you can easily solve this problem by programming your HomeLink garage door opener.
This article applies to the Toyota Camry (2007-2011).
Successfully programming your HomeLink garage door opener may seem daunting, but it really only takes a few minutes to complete this task. It is important to note that some vehicles may need to be on in order to successfully complete the programming. In some cases, you may just need to turn the ignition to 'on' to program the receiver. It's also possible that some vehicles don't need to be on in order to finish the programming.
Materials Needed
- HomeLink transceiver
- Garage door opener
Step 1 – Press the two exterior buttons
There are two exterior buttons on the HomeLink system. Press and hold these buttons until the LED light begins to blink. Release the buttons once the light starts to blink.
Step 2 – Program the HomeLink system
To program your HomeLink system, press and hold down the button you desire while simultaneously holding the transmit button down on your rolling code transmitter. Continue to hold the buttons down until the LED light changes from a slow blink to a faster blink. At this point the HomeLink system is programmed.
Step 3 – Program the learn code button
Find the learn code button on the garage door opener. This button is situated underneat the light cover, which may be on or near the rear panel. Once you locate the button, press it until a red LED light begins blinking. Continue holding the button for 30 seconds to complete the programming.
Step 4 – Complete the programming process
While the LED light on the garage door opener is blinking, press the pre-programmed HomeLink button (in the vehicle) four times, or until the garage door operates.
