98 fed engine into 99 cali car
I am putting a 1998 federal engine into a 1999 California car. Will be using wiring harness, exhaust manifold and engine control unit from the federal engine. What else will I have to do to make everything work properly?

What engine type?
Why are you using the 98 wiring, etc and not modifying the 98 to a 99 using the 99 parts? |
I bought this 1999 Camry with a bad engine. The 2.2L engine(120,000 miles) with California emissions spun a bearing. I bought a 1998 2.2L used remanufactured low milage engine with federal emissions which included complete engine wiring harness, complete intake, exhaust manifold. I am swapping the engine and computer(computer was on the car the engine came from). Are there any other problems I will encounter with this project?

Engine wise should be OK if you do as stated.
Take it the trans was automatic in both cars. The 98 and 99 engine/trans/emissions for the 4 cylinder appear to not have changed between years. |
Thanks!
Yes, they are automatics. Thanks for the support.
