AC Button Replacement on 98 Camry
 

Wanted to know how the AC button can be removed off the climate control cluster. The light doesn't work and all the coloring is gone from mine, was looking at replacing judt the button and the bulb.

Auto or manual A/C? Manual has 3 rotating knobs and some push button switches. Assume its manual.

You might pick up some kind of service manual to follow.

The finish panel around the knobs, switches and think radio below it plus storage bin needs to be removed. To do this requires sliding a thin plastic tool or such between the panel vertical edges to push in built-in plastic clips on the panel to release the panel. GENTLY do this!!!!!!!!

Once the finish panel is off remove the screws on the side of the unit having the knobs. Remove the three knobs as there is a screw behind two or more of them. Remove screws.

Pull out panel having knobs/switches. Keep in mind there can be a push/pull cable connected to one of the knobs.

The A/C button housing pushes in from behind the unit and locks in with built in clips on the button housing. Use a tool to push the clips in and pull out the push button switch unit from behind.

Remove the wiring connection to switch.
