Door open chime location

Where is the chime located the chimes when the key is in the switch and you open the door. I know it's under the dash, but where? I also know I can remove the key and it will stop. I don't ever want to here the chime again, if I lock my keys in the car its my problem.

Thanks

Not sure.

It is either attached to the combination meter board or mounted on it. Mounted means no external wiring-part of the circuit system.

Either way you will need to remove the combination meter to find it.

Well that sucks, any other way to disable the key in switch chime?

There may be a unlock switch on the ign cylinder. When the key is inserted the switch closes. Possibly disconnecting a wire to the switch would keep the circuit open. Not sure what this would have on the operation of other circuits, if any.

I have the exact same problem. This chime is super loud and ultra annoying. I have an 1987.
