2007 XLE - VSC light on after replacing headlight switch

I disconnected the battery before removing the steering wheel. Replacing the headlight switch was pretty straightforward, but then when I started the car up, the Check VSC light came on & has stayed on.
I think the steering angle sensor needs to be reset or calibrated?
I have tried several things I’ve found online but nothing has worked so far (unplugged battery again, paper clip in 4 & 13, tried turning the VSC off with a series of steps involving pushing the brake pedal down and turning the car on & off).

Is resetting the SAS something I can do myself? I’m also freaking out thinking maybe I didn’t plug something back in but don’t want to take the steering wheel off again. (99% sure I did plug everything in).

Pretty sure an alignment place can reset it but how do I know my VSC is working?

Did you perform the zero point calibration for the yaw and acceleration sensor first?

Nope. I bought a very basic scanner. Think I can do it with that? ANCEL AD410 Enhanced OBD II Vehicle Code Reader Automotive OBD2 Scanner Auto Check Engine Light Scan Tool (Black/Yellow) https://a.co/d/ihRmZUc

If I take it in for an alignment, they should be able to do it too, right?

Yes. Its a procedure issue to fix as in resetting, not a mechanical issue.
