Default ****TY FUEL ECONOMY

I have a 1995 toyota camry 4 cyl. that gets absolutely ****ty gas mileage. I have checked tire pressure, air filter, I also started to clean the throttle body but didnt finish.
Is there anything else that could be causing it, I heard people get great gass mileage.

I think what you are asking me is how bad is it.
I am averaging 16-21mpg, and I ahve heard people say they get in the 30s.

do you purely drive in the city and hit 3K or greater RPM's? If you do, you should be getting low 20'sor 20 if all was well.
People who say they get 30's with a camry are typically highway drivers. a 4cyl camry should typically get about 26 mpg with mixed city and highway driving.

16-21 is not an average. 16 + 21 /2 = 18.5, that's an average.16 to 21is also a huge differential so I'm guessingyour driving habits and/or routes vary widely.

Check this (and your math) for comparison:
