2000 Camry 2.2 rough starts

I have a code reader that I can try, but if none show up, is there a "PCV" valve or fuel filter that I can check under the hood to trouble shoot my rough starting problem?

Thanks, Chet

try just turning the key to the on positon ....all the way but dont start it basically. give it a few seconds and try to start it. if it starts up fine try it a couple of times and see if it helps..my guess is your not letting the fuel pump pressurize up. then agian it could be a fuel filter clogged injectors ect...good luck

If fuel filter you would notice problems with high load first, like acceleration and going up hill, not starting problems. When was the last time you changed plugs, wires etc. You can pull the plugs and see what condition they're in. If you did't get a CEL light I don't think there's much chance of a code.

Thanks for the replys. So far I don't get any cel lights (or idiot lights) on the dash so thats whey I have not put the code reader on it. I too thought of my not waiting long enough for the fuel pump to kick in so I will try waiting a few seconds before starting. I have never changed the plugs or wires and have put 10 k miles on after buying it. Time for a tune up!

Thanks, Chet
