FYI Solved miss on 89 Camry

Finally found the stumble/stall/not start issue on our 89 Camry 4cyl.
The air flow meter had broken solder contacts under the sealed black cover. Normally one doesn't take these apart but when I slapped the thing while cranking the engine it would start. Re-soldered them, then resealed the cover till a used replacement is installed. Bad contacts where the red dots are. Attachment 2785 |

Hat off to you. thanks for posting up the solution :) I've learned so much on motorcycle, car, appliance, guitar forums, etc, over the years, it's good to give something back. We're not all trained mechanics with a shop full of tools but sometimes we get lucky. Actually I sold the car today, to a mechanic. He chuckled when I told him how I fixed it. Not being factory trained I didn't know I couldn't fix it that way. :D People often call me Mcgyvertric Take care :) Kit |
