Toyota Camry 1998 CSi :: Back Doors Not Opening from inside ::

I have Toyota Camry 1998 with factory fitted auto locks.

All doors Lock and Un-Lock with Remote and inside door button.

When Doors Un-locked, Can't open back doors from inside even though Child lock is "Unlocked as well" but can open the doors from outside.

Please can anyone help me explain the problem and solution.

You can't open any back door at that door? Do the back door locks remain on, then you can't unlock them from the individual back door?

Both back doors can't be opened from inside (when unlocked and door handle is pulled from inside to open the door) even they are unlocked manually.

Try taking off the door panel and see if any actuators and links are broken. Also check the child lock switch inside and see if that's broken as well. Wish I can be more of a help but i don't have power locks in my camry so I can't really pinpoint the problem for you.

Yes, if you can not manually unlock the doors manually there may be something wrong mechanically with the locking system.

The actuators are 12V.

The Blue/Red and Blue/Black wires are for the lock motor.

The Blue/Yellow and White/Black (ground) wires for a built-in switch that tells the door lock system of the lock is on or off based on its position.

Same problem

Hi, I have exactly the same problem, all linkages seem to be ok, if you find a solution could you please share with me the details?

Do the rear door inside lock knobs move when triggered to lock/unlocked? And move to the unlock position?

You still can't open the rear door if the rear manual locks are unlocked?

Sometimes the push/pull rods fall off the inside door handle/lock. The handle can be removed to check the rods.
