Default Check Engine Light Code PO770 Lock-Up Solenoid Help

i have 1997 toyota camry with a p0770 code (lock-up solenoid) i have replaced the solenoid and the computer i have tested the wire (pink) from the computer to the solenoid and its good i have tested the solenoid as well ran 71 psi of air to it and powered it on and it works fine. the only other thing i can think of is the valve body is pluged or the torque converter is bad Trans is a A140E Any Ideas

The code means lockup does not occur within a given range or lockup occurs but the trans slips.

Could be the lockup clutch on the converter, stuck/blocked valve in the shifter body or slipping brake or broken gear in the trans.

I'm not too familiar with those codes, every time I can't find solution I ask experts.

well should i do a rebuild on the trans and new converter. the trans has 346500 miles on it the only thing ever done is the fluid and filters. and the trans oil pump at 140000 miles. never been in the trans yet. but it still shift fine. does not slip. but i guess its alot of miles on a trans.

The valve body can be removed without taking the trans out of the car. There is a hydraulic relay valve inside that slides to transfer pressure to the converter clutch.

The torque converter can be removed without taking the trans itself apart.

The info found states no. The listings run 92-96 then 97-01.

What the difference is don't know.

Might check at the Toyotanation website where members have swapped a lot of trans for this model car.

Great!

The trans vendors may have posted trans models based on generation of car 3 to 4. The break between generations was 96-97.
