ok here is the issue now for my 94 camry 4 cylinder. i know the car has an oil leak but it isnt bad enough to go through a quart in 10 mins. so after the car warms up and i have to stop at a stop light the oil light will flicker off and on. im guessing the oil pressure switch but it coul be the oil pump due to the person that had the car before me didnt take care of the engine and there was layers of baked oil on everything took bout 5 hours just to clean the head and valve cover of all the crude in there. but once i start goin the light stops flickering so i have no clue what could be the problem

 

The light comes on due to pressure dropping or going too high. These issues can happen without loosing oil. If your engine has been sludged up like you suggested the pickup screen could be clogged. Therefore, pressure drops at idle and goes up enough to turn the light off when rpms go up. You may want to try this http://auto-rx.com/cart/order.htm.
