Default 97-99 headlight questions

Hello everyone. Both of my parents drive Camrys. One is a 97, and the other is a 98. Both cars' headlights are badly stained from time and sun exposure. I've been looking at different options, such as: cleaning the lenses by wet-sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper, buying new headlights on eBay, and the purpose of this post, wondering if the 2000 Camry headlights fit. The 2000 headlights are clear, and as you probably know, the 97-99 are hazy with gridlines, even brand new. So, would the 2000 lights just bolt right in spot? They look almost identical in shape.

Thanks,
Greg

The headlight appears to run between years 1997-99, see link below:

The gridlines help defuse the light.

If the lens just has surface haze and and yellowing you can try wet sanding (use water) and 2000 grit sand paper, then a rubbing compound and a paste wax. Rub back and forth across the lens rather then a circle.

A Google search should turn up other methods of cleaning these lens.

There is also a product that you can pick up from Kragen, Pepboys, etc. that has become pretty useful for cleaning lenses. It's called PlastX. I've used it myself and I am satisfied with the results.
