Floor mat holders

I have the factory carpet mats in my 12 Se and want to switch to an all weather mat.How do you get the mat retainers out of the floor grommets?I have pulled on them and twisted them with no luck at all.

I have the **** style and they were factory.
Link didnt remove these.??
