For 2007 Camry, Crutchfield isn't much help. They say there are no speakers available to fit the openings in the 07 Camry without modification of the car. I wrote their CS about it and they won't even recommend anything because it doesn't use standard mounting points. I would especially like to replace my rear deck speakers because they pop when playing anything with bass in it.

you must realize that most, if not all the camry's require a custom mount or sound deadening when you want to install aftermarket speakers. And in any case, most aftermarket speakers (minus components), aren't meant to carry heavy bass as well as the oem speakers. Thats why subwoofers were invented.

Actrually I was referring to the factory rear speakers. They pop like crazy.Could possiblybe the worst factory speakers I've ever had. I don'tbelieve thatfactory speakers can handle bass better anyway. Factory speakers are usually the cheapest paper cone speakers they can make. Most don't have separate tweeter, midrange and woofer sections--just one big paper cone.

There have been reported issues with the new camry's speakers, but i am not aware of any solution from toyota...although they really should offer one if they don't already.
Most newer cars dont use paper woofers anymore at least that's what i've observed. i know our 2005 highlander with the basic sound system uses a sort of synthetic cone material.

You may be right. I haven't crawled in the trunk to look closely yet. I can tell they have very little magnet structure on them and in my experience that would lead to not reproducing bass very well. If I can find a good custom installer around here I may get them to do something. I'm too lazy and have too bad a back to do it myself these days.

Just take it to a local audio shop with decent reviews. Have them upgrade to something a size bigger than stock while you are at it.
