Default 2005 Camry XLE radio issues

I just purchased a 2005 Toyota Camry XLE very nice car it's got the JBL stereo in it the guy said the radio stopped working a year ago radio turns on no sound. But if you put the key in the accessory mode the radio turn on and play but makes a squealing sound loud squealing if you start the card radio won't have any sound if you turn the air conditioner on the radio will turn on for a couple seconds squeal really loud in your ear and then turn off and not turn back on until you shut the car off and put it in the first click of the ignition where the accessory mode and you still get a loud squeal. Could somebody please help me with this I really don't want to purchase a new radio but if I have to I have to has anybody dealt with this before I've dealt with lots of radios over my life nothing like this nothing like this at all. Thank you have a wonderful day

Does this radio have a touch screen or the usual radio face plate setup?

So,

Radio actually works when key in ACC position but has a squeal?

Works as in makes music, voice, etc?

With engine on radio will not work unless A/C is on but works for a few seconds then squeal only then turns off?

If you turn the engine off radio will not make a sound unless ign key to ACC then it makes a squeal.

Suspect the radio is turning off due to high current draw of such.

JBL setup has a dashboard display setup and a remotely located amp. Could be the amp is being overloaded and shut off.

Any shorted wiring to the speakers? Bad speaker.

No touch screen it the 6 disc unit. I can walk outside right now put the key in the ignition turn it to the accessory spot I'll get a squeal but I can hear music I can turn up the music and get it louder than the squeal but then if I go and try to start the car the stereo shuts off the power stays on but the sound stops completely. Only when the car isn't running will the radio work and it sounds good all the speakers everything there's just a very high pitch squeal coming from the speakers

So, the squeal is only when the engine is running? Does the squeal increase or decrease in any way with the engine RPM?

Read info at link.

Oh no when the engine is running the radio will not play. The engine has to be off for the radio to play. The squeal starts out loud and then goes away a little bit as you turn up the volume you can hear the music but you have to turn it up loud and the squeal is still there. But soon as you started the radio no more sound comes out of it all I was driving down the road and I turned really sharp and that's when the radio first started making the noise and squealing but it didn't change with the acceleration of the engine.

Does the cigarette or power outlet work when the engine is on?

"turn up the music and get it louder than the squeal but then if I go and try to start the car the stereo shuts off the power stays on but the sound stops completely."

Power to radio is still on but no music?

Have you looked under the dash and inside the engine room for wiring damage? Perhaps by mice?

So far all wires and grounds are in great shape that's the first thing I did. I'm starting to think it's internal in the head unit because it almost sounds like a fuse pops when that squeal stops and then the music starts to play and you don't have a squeal but then you start the car and everything goes away

The JBL is supposed to have a remote amp. The head unit is wired to the amp. The amp may be located under the passenger seat.

The amp power is fused by one time blow fuses. The amp has internal overload protraction system that can reset.

You might read up groundloop radio squeal and amp circuit protection.
