Changing Color of Plasmacluster?

I recently inherited an 07 XLE and it has the lit plasmacluster. My question is, can you change the color of it? I do not like the stock color.

Has anyone done this or read of anyone doing it?

i have heard that it is very hard to do. but i have not seen it done or talked to someone personally who has done it.
