I’m about to do a valve cover gasket replacement, and i can’t get the surrounding cables far enough away from the cover to be sure I’ll be able get the cover out. In the still/video that I’ve attached, that plastic cable housing marked “IG” is not moving out of the way enough, unlike what I see in all the DIY videos on YouTube. I really don’t want to break something.

That "IG" piece extends down and away for about 8-10inches. Near the top, I noticed the electrical tape around that “IG” plastic harness channel: I’m wondering if somebody taped together some things that don’t need to be taped together, and it’s keeping the bundle from moving away from the cover.

Is there some hidden bolt or something I’m missing?

The piece with "IG" on it, before taking out the bolt.

The tape appears to be aftermarket. Try carefully removing the tape to determine why it was put there in the first place.

The cover should be able to be removed with removing the harness.

Thanks for the response.
I removed most of that baked on electrical tape, but that didn't help.
I felt down the drivers side and found a 10mm bolt down under the "IG" wire holder, and removed the air box so I could get in there. I loosened it, but that assembly did not loosen up. (If there are other bolts back there, I can't see being able to get to them with a ratchet and socket.) So I disconnected the alternator wires on the other side of the engine, which did give me more slack over there. But I was barely able to get the cover off because of that wire holder, and now I wonder if, during the wrestling match versus the wires, I'll be able to get it back on without bumping the new gasket out of its channel.
Is there a place I could find a diagram of these wiring holders without having a part number?
