I have a 1990 Camry 2.0 4cyl with a five speed manual transmission. The factory spec fluid is Mercon/Dextron Automatic Transmission Fluid, which is what I put in it It makes some noise, leaks a bit, and is rather old and so I want to try out a transmission additive, Xado Revitilazant and Lucas Transmission Fix to be specific. But I'm unsure which products are appropriate since although the transmission is manual, the fluid is ATF. I can imagine that the main factor in making an additive is that it is appropriate for the kind of fluid int he transmission, which inclines me to think that I should buy additives that are for an automatic transmission. Does anyone know what additives are appropriate for my transmission and why?
