Arched wires on hotwired 1998 Camry. Won't start, PLEASE HELP!!!
I am borrowing a friend's 1998 Toyota Camry. Sadly the ignition on her car has been destroyed and she has had to hot wire it to drive it. After driving it once from Point A to Point B. I parked it and while trying to conceal the wires, so as not to be seen by passersby, I accidentally arched the wires from the ignition. Now the car won't start. I have checked all fuses and relays and replaced those that needed. I have checked the battery which seemed to be dead and charged that as well. But still nothing... The headlights come on, the overhead light comes on, but that is it. The accessory does not turn on nor does anything. It's as if I've not tried to turn it on at all. Please help!!!

Have you checked ALL fuses?
There are several fuse/relay boxes in the engine compartment. Toyota used small body sized replaceable blade type fuses and larger body size fuses that bolt to the fuse box circuit board. All fuses have a window to check if the fuse filament is still OK. There is also a fuse box behind the drivers side dash coin box. Check AM 2 fuse.
The head lights being on means fusible link in the positive battery cable is still OK.
