Default Buying Parts Online ?

I don't need much, and just filled up my basket with a few things at Discount Auto Parts - Domestic and Import Car Parts and Accessories. Two pnuematic hood lifts, windshield wipers, an electric antenna. That's about it.

Why would they want to charge me $30 for shipping and handling? The whole order is only $150. Realistically, these things could fit in the rear pocket of my Levi's. Is there a more reasonable source online, or should I buy locally?

I live in Los Angeles, so we're not hurting for car parts stores.

Perhaps the seller drop ships from multiple locations.

Try rockauto.com for perhaps lower prices but watch shipping as they also drop ships. Search the web for 5% off discount codes to use at the site.

why? because it's another way to make few bucks. they ship for 10, you pay 30.
btw, why did you buy, if you saw it coming?

I didn't buy the stuff yet. I'm need to schedule my mechanic to do the wrenching.

Back to my question, though. Is online buying cheaper than the local auto parts store? Taking into account shipping charges.

Rockauto is one of the cheapest sites.

Suggest staying away from Discount Auto Parts | Car Parts, & Truck Parts Online - Free Shipping on most Auto Parts - AutoPartsGIANT based on extremely poor past experience.

There is no free lunch where a site has cheap parts and cheap shipping. Even with shipping you should be able to beat local auto parts store by a good percentage.
