I have a 1989 4 door Camry sedan.

This morning, the door light stayed on when I started the car. I checked all doors and isolated the problem to the rear passenger door. Despite trying and closing this door flush to the body and the same as the front passenger door, the door light stays on.

It goes off when that same door is open.

Also, how much does that light drain the battery?

Try manually pushing the switches on the door jams.

 

Thanks. I don't know where the switch is in relation to the door jamb.

 

Look on the chassis pillar where the back of the door closes for a round rubber boot extending out from the pillar. The switch is under the boot.
