Thanks.
12024 fits the radiator cap perfectly. However, 12025 did not fit my radiator neck. Should I try to remove one or two of the center rubber washers? |
Is this the Camry your trying to use the 12025 device on?
|
Thanks.
No. I'm only talking about my 1996 Tercel. My adapters for my Camry work fine. |
Try to find out why the adapter is loose. Then if the issue is needing more or less washers to adjust for this looseness.
|
Thanks.
It attaches, but does not connect when rotated. There are two notches on either side of the adapter, but they are square shaped, ie not curved to allow a tight fit. When I pull the plunger, air goes through gaps between the radiator neck and the adapter. |
The chrome unit is not a Stant product but a CTA Tool 7092. Some reviews at Amazon have the same of the same complaints as you do.
Get a Stant 12025. |
Thanks. I'm unsure whether that will fit my Tercel. Also, it looks like I would need to buy the $126.99 CTA tester kit.
|
It appears you don't have Stant 12025 but a CTA Tool 7092.
Are you using a CTA pressure kit or Stant pressure kit? Try removing the rubber washers one a time and determine if the unit now fits up snug to the radiator. Compare the CTA adapter with the Stant adapter that fits up to the other car. Determine if the CTA gripping arms are bent or otherwise defective and not allowing the unit to firmly mate. The only functional difference between the two units is one is made to grip a radiator port having a 10 mm depth and the other a 16 mm depth. |
Thanks.
I'm using the Stant kit and 12025. |
The chrome tool is not a Stant tool.
