Default Rust After Accident ?

Hi all, my '04 Camry just got hit on the left front end by a truck. Looks like a couple deep scratches in the quarter panel and quite a bit of paint came off the bumper cover. On the quarter panel scratches...will they rust or am I okay to just leave it alone ? The scratches are not very visible. On the bumper cover, I know it's fiberglass so not worried about rust there.

Depends if the scratch went down to the metal. There is a primer coat which may be white in color.

Toyota apparently sells touch up color pins. The drivers door should have a sticker with the paint code on it. The internet has specific info on finding the code on the sticker.

Check if the scratches went down to the meta, if not then touch up. Use a magnifying glass. If so then use touch up primer first, then when dry use the color pin.

Ok so if the deep scratches are white in color under the magnifier I can get away with just using a Toyota touch up pen. If I see bare metal down in there, then prime first.

Yes.

The primer adheres best to bare metal. The colored paint adheres best to the primer and not bare metal.

The internet has lots of video on paint touch up.
