Default Toyota Camry Solara - 2007

Hey guys,
I own a 2007 solara and i've been wanting to get new high beams for a while because mine will most likely die out soon. Most of the auto stores i went to said they don't carry the right high beams for my car and I'd rather avoid the dealership because they are a lot more costly. Is there anywhere I can order the bulb online and fit it in myself? Or am i better off going to the dealership for them to take care of it for me?

The bulb? Strange how auto stores or WalMart do not carry this. Have you asked an auto parts store to order them (beware of extra charges for this).

For online try rockauto.com, Partsgeek, Amazon. Many auto parts stores also have an online site where a part can be ordered.

The owners manual should have the generic bulb part number such as 9011. Various manufacturers make the same part.

I was really surprised too, but they told me that they had the bulb for the regular headlight but not the high beams. I'll check back with them and see if it can be ordered, if not I'll check the online places you gave as well as look through the manual to see what i can find, I appreciate your help!

Get the exact part number (exact bulb) as there are lots of variations which look the same but don't fit.

Don't fall for the Sylvania Silverstars are the like. They look pretty but won't last very long and they are very expensive.
Does your 2007 have projector headlights? I might have a simple bulb modification that could negate a lot of the use of high beams.

Funny enough you should say that because i'm pretty sure the regular headlights I put in a few months ago were the sylvania silverstar ones. I guess i got swept up in what the auto parts dealer was selling me. If i'm not mistaken they are projector headlights. Do i need to take out the old bulb to get the exact part number or will this be in the manual? (like the generic 9011 one)

The manual should have all bulb part numbers used on the car.

The link below shows all bulbs for the headlights. The 9011 is the standard bulb and should be good enough.

If your lights seem dim, check the headlight lens which can cloud up with age.

Thumbs up

You guys are super helpful! Thanks again, I really appreciate it, i'll check the headlight lens and see if that is also part of the problem.
