hey guys, i own a 1995 toyota camry zx and i was fiddling with the radio wires cos i was installing a cd player and i mustve pulled out a wire because when i turn on the headlights, the headlights turn on but the dashboard doesnt light up.... now i took the dashboard covers off so it reveals the wires and there was a little black box that had a wire sticking out of the bottom that wasnt plugged in so it leads me to believe that it must be whats stoping the lights form turning on but im no car electrician so could u please help me out. i would greatly appreciate it. i can also take some pictures of it and post it up if you like.

 

have you tried using a Haynes manual? They have schematics in them that'll help you.

An occasional unplugged or unconnected wire within the interior wiring is nothing unusual. Don't think that your mystery wire should necessarily be connected. .... Not enough information or knowledge to help with your main problem. As mentioned by others, if you can obtain a schematic and look up the particular circuit for the 'fuse in question', that might serve as a starting point to diagnose the situation.

 

also check the dimmer adjustment..
