Default 2021 Camry LE harsh jerking when almost stopped

I just bought a new 2021 Toyota camry le. I noticed that everytime when I slow down and when almost coming to a stop, doing a very smooth stop, the car jerks twice before stopping. It feels like a transmission is doing it. But if i brake hard it doesnt do it. It feels like harsh jerking. Is it normal for this year camry to do that??

Try Toyotanation.com where members are already commenting about their 2021's.

Jerks as in down shifts? There have been complaints about transmission hesitation and jerking.

Put the trans in neutral before slowing down to eliminate the trans and determine what happens.

It doesn’t do it when in neutral. So it’s a harsh downshift into 1st gear. The dealer says its normal. So i guess I am stuck with this issue. Or unless it will go away on its own.

It's supposed to be an 8 speed thus it must be constantly shifting. If enough complaints Toyota may try a fix such as in the past and change the software that controls the trans.

My 2010 Toyota Camry XLE with the U660 six-speed transmission does the same, but it only jerks once when downshifting.

Likely just downshifting. have your dealer check it.
