Default '94 Camry XLE

Newbie here,

Just walked out to my Camry and it won't start. Turned the key and it makes a fast machine gun like clicking noise. Dash lights and radio works. So I am ruling out the battery.... Alternator maybe?
Can someone please help me. It has 155,000 on it.
Thanks!!!!

It could be your battery is week enough to power everything else but not the starter. Try getting a jump start to verify it is not the battery. If it is not the battery then it sounds like your starter is dying;it is getting stuck. You need to get it replaced immediately.

You may be able to get the starter loose by banging on the starter with something solid but not too hard; don't use steel and definitely not a hammer. I used the grip end of my aluminum baseballbat because aluminum is soft. I also put a 1/8" thick peice of neoprene.Find the starter and bang it twice and then try starting theengine. If it doesn't work, hit it againtwice and try starting the engine again. After two or three attempts, give it up and have it towed to the shop.
