Id say just use the oil youve been using. Perhaps a better suggestion is needed. With 138k id switch to a highmileage engine oil, its designed for older cars to recondition seals help prevent leaks ect. Valveoline maxlife , Castrol Gtx Highmileage is good. Aslongs you keep it clean and changed every 3k you should notice it running a little smoother perhaps. 138k sounds to me like its time for a tune-up if you havent had one. Make sure the transmission fluid is bright and pink and change all other fluids and filters as well as plugs and wires. See if your brakes are ok ect ect. That would more than likely help it run smoother and maybe a slight bit of pickup. Its a Camry though by all means not a Supra. Dont expect more than what it gives you
Be sure you have no check engine lights on too!

You may have more miles on your car but the same rules should apply...

Stay with recommended weight oil. You could change to a high mileage oil as another poster said. It sure wouldn't hurt anything. You may want to check out autorx as well. Here is a link to their website. http://auto-rx.com/cart/order.htm.

it seems a bit late to switch over synthetics IMO, so.. just grab a synthetic blend and a toyota filter. Make sure its a toyota filter because those ones have anti-drain back valve or somethin' like that. IDK, but i switched over from WIX and its quite a difference.

I'd recommend Lubrication Engineers' 8800 Monolec Ultra Blend Engine Oil. By far, it is the best long-drain engine oil that has comparative reports to back it up. Not only does it have the best base oil (paraffin-base) but also loaded with exclusive and best commercial additives to ensure engine protection and performance. I'm usin' it now in my '91 Corona GL (3sfe) and I tell you I am very much satisfied. Check out LE's website: www.le-inc.com. Have a nice ride bro!

corona21,

would consider trying this LE oil, but not sure were to purchase; is it available at auto store, web-site, etc.?
