engine swap in 05
i have an automatic 2005 LE and i want to make it a 5-speed manual. im saving for an engine swap and pretty much have my sights on the 3sgte. will this drop into it easilly? what transmission should i use, and about how much will this cost to convert?
im going to sleeve the engine so it can handle at least 25-30 psi (not daily driven at that boost of course)
planning on gt35r turbo, HKS bov, ti valve springs & retainers, f&r sways, 18" rims, brembos, lowered, custom exhaust, etc. etc.

was also hoping to drop in a 6 speed, most likely the one from the celica, but im not sure if this will bolt up to the 3sgte. i searched, but no finds. mostly because 90% of ehat comes up when i type in 6 speed camry is the automatic 6 speed in the 2007. automatic is lame, what a waste of 6 gears.

Well im not sure if i have any kind of helpful info for you . However theres a site toyotacelicaonlineindex.com or something close to that im sure you could find it online. It has some good people, a forum board pretty much like this one. Im sure they could answer your question to as if the 6spd manual gts transmission will bolt up ect.
As for the 6spd auto transmission in the new 07 camry. Its a 4dr sedan thats built to ride smooth as possible. The 6spd tranny that comes with it was engineered for a smoother ride quicker shifts resulting in better mpg and performance here and there. Not by any means built to be a car that was race ready with turbos and custom exhuast . I find it to be a great car cant see why youd bash on it.

i wasnt bashing on it, i just like manual better. i understand the people who buy camrys usually arent performance minded, and auto is ideal for them.
just not good for what i plan to do with my car, which is why i want 6 speed manual. to mu understanding, the v6 camry transmission (5 speed) bolts up to the 3sgte as well, and it would probably be easier to put that in rather than the 6 speed from the celica. i could be wrong though. i will do some research and make a decision
i havent seen any boosted 05 camrys though, or any generation 5 camrys for that matter, anyone got links?
