Good morning
I have a 95 Camry that’s developed a fuel leak back by the fuel tank. It’s coming from a horseshoe-shaped hose that has a clamp on both ends. The hose has got a Nick in it, and the fuel is leaking out.
The question is, where can I get that hose. I went to the local auto parts store, and they basically laughed at me. The hose is about 7 inches long—any suggestions.
The fuel system is a return system. Fuel is pumped out of the tank and any excess is returned to the tank.
Best route is to obtain the correct length (hose is sold by the foot) and diameter of the fuel hose, then replace it. The auto parts store will have fuel hose but you need to know the correct hose I.D. Measure the pipe the hose slides onto.
The original hose clamps are most likely crimped on. Cut them off and replace with screw type fittings.
If it were a straight piece of hose, that would work, but it's U-shaped. I think it would kink. The auto parts store had nothing. I may try the dealer
