Default 04 2.4L Solaro Motor in 08 Camry le

Ok so I bought this Camry with 36k miles on it confident that like all my Toyotas I'd get 200k+ well long story short at 68K she put a rod through the block doing 80 down the freeway. A buddy of mine had an 04 Solaro that got the rear end creamed but has a perfectly good motor with 120k on it I bought the motor for $300. The motors look identical all the plugs are the same I can't see any difference. When I was looking for a motor everything listed was 06-09 as the same motor. My question is can I drop this motor in as is or do I need to strip everything off my motor and put it on this one I know the blocks are the same and visually everything looks the same on the 04 motor. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

I'm not sure on the specifics, but I would also get the computer (ECU). I would actually try to get everything, why not have the spares on hand?

This is the Camry coupe or 2-door.

Ditto on getting all you can.

The computer is programmed for the year/engine/emissions/transmission type.

Suggest searching on the part number of your cars ECU to see what it fits. Then speculate if this also covers the engine you picked up.
