Default '05 Camry 4 Cylinder Coil Pack Leads

Hi,

1st thread, just signed up, please forgive my noob-ness...

I scrolled through about 5 pages of general tech threads and didn't see anything related to my question, I was wondering if any of you have experienced my situation.

Changing spark plugs on a 2005 Camry 4 cylinder and the little retention tab that "snap's on" to the coil has snapped off. This would be a part of the wiring harness on the actual coil lead, I removed the lead for cylinder 1 and it broke so I thought "better not disconnect the rest" and that worked fine for cylinder 2, but the harness' for 3 and 4 have to be removed...so I tried to be as surgically careful as humanly possible to remove 3 and...snapped that one too...4 is standing by to be snapped off unless somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong here lol...

I have been wrenching since I was a kid and I'm 41 now, I'm not a rookie but this is kinda bulls!@#, feels like a rookie mistake.

My first thought is to cut some thin strips of duct tape to make sure that they don't vibrate their way off, not make a big gray spectacle of it, just a clean reasonable assurance that these leads will stay put. Was wondering if any of you had some input.

Thanks for reading,
Rob Greenwood

Does this link help:

DIY GUIDE: Replacing Spark Plugs on 2az-fe - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

In the past when tabs on electrical parts have been broken have used tie wraps to hold the connector on. Route it around the base of the main part then in-between the wires of the plug and pull out the slack on the wrap. Works well.

Good call on the wire ties, didn't even think about that...car is out on the road presently, my parents took it on vacation and it will be gone for a week or so, I'll re-visit this when they come back
