1994 Toyota Camry le v6

If I put my car in drive or reverse it just revs and won't go. It just started. My friend said it could be the shifter cable but he looked and it's not that. What could it be?

Is there a leak in the transmission? In other cars I've owned, if the fluid gets low the transmission can fail to engage.
