2000 Camry LE 4cyl. 100k tune up?
so my camry is now over 100k miles and needs tune up. What are the things I'll need to get done? I'm guessing spark plugs, fluids, timing belt. anything else?? What spark plugs should I get and how much should this tune up cost?
The owners manual would have some info on this.
Timing belt recommendation is 90K per belt manufactures. Suggest a Toyota brand belt as the belt noise may be less then some aftermarket ones. Shop cost would vary. Toyota dealer $300-500 although some have something like a $200 special. Independent shop $200-250.
For plugs, NGK or Denso platinum. The plugs are easy to do.
If the transmission fluid has never been changed suggest doing this. If a shop is doing the work have them replace all the fluid (including the torque converter). Don't have them use cleaning chemicals, etc. The diff fluid should also be changed. Cost $100-150.
Might change the PS fluid. The easiest way is to suck out the fluid in the reservoir and replace with new. Repeat this 4-5 times between driving and the fluid will be clean again.
