2004 Camry LE V6 3.0L Transmission

Engine running, added 1/2 qt trans fluid and saw that on tran dip stick immediately after adding then level went down to dry very quickly and oil level went up.
Trans dip stick now dry.
Oil dip stick very high and color changed to trans fluid color.
Tried again after turning engine off and oil level stayed high and trans dip stick still dry.

No leaks.
No smoke.

Did not run it as soon as I saw the problem.

There were no signs of transmission problems prior. Shifted smoothly through all gears.
No engine problems. Runs smooth.
No check engine light.

And no, I did not put trans fluid in the oil fill.

All the trans shops around here are stumped.

What failure can cause this?
Any tests I can do.
