2007 camry losing coolant - head gasket?
My 2007 Camry with 2.4L engine consistently loses coolant for the last 50K miles. I have approx 150K miles on it. Do I need to replace the head gasket or is there something else i can try that would be easier?
I've read that there are a lot of problems with stripped threads on the earlier models, not sure if the 2007 in included. Don't want to ruin an engine taking it off.
I can tackle moderate to hard jobs, but I'm not an expert. Is this something I can do myself in a weekend?

Did the engine run out of coolant to the point it stopped running?
Check for signs of coolant on the back of the engine where there is foam heat insulation for the intake manifold.
Read up on repairing the head bolt threads. This site and others have threads on this. There are kits that contain all the required tools and parts.
But first, make sure the engine was not damaged from lack of coolant.
