2012 Camry Hybrid Steering Wheel
Hello everyone,
My 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE met with a curb on the passenger side, rear wheel a few months ago. I have had the car aligned by both NTB and multiple local Toyota dealerships. Unfortunately, my steering wheel continues to be angled 15 degrees to the left, even though the car is perfectly aligned according to all of the specs. The dealer informs me that this is an issue with the electronic power steering.
My questions: has anyone had a similar issue? If so, were you able to rectify the problem and how?
I appreciate any help or guidance the forum can provide...

Hi Joey,
Thanks for the quick reply...
Correct, the steering wheel was no longer centered after hitting the curb. I was going about 5 mph around a corner, hit the latter 1/3 of the wheel and scratched the wheel. I've had them check and none of the steering components or suspension components where damaged.
Again, I really appreciate you asking.

The steering power assist is electric but the steering system still has a rack and pinion.
Something gave after hitting the curb.
If no external damage is found then investigate the rack. No sure electric steering has anything to do with this. If possible ask the dealer to explain what they mean but it is an electric steering problem, and how this differs from a car having a conventional hydraulic power assist.
