Default 2015 Camry LE Musty Smell

I noticed that my new Camry had a musty smell one morning when I started it up. I had the air left on recycled air the night before.

I asked the dealer about it and they said that this is a known issue with the new 2015 Camry's. They suggested I get the charcoal filter and get the air conditioner service. The Air Conditioner service I was told is covered under the warranty.

I am not sure if anyone else is having this issue but I wanted to pass it along.

Though I'm not familiar with this in the '15, i have experienced it in my '07. The charcoal filter should help clear up the odor.
For future reference, you should run the HVAC on the fresh air setting when you are at the end of your trip. This will help take out some moisture. If you use the A/C on recycled, you should do the same.
Moisture will build up in the unit and grow nasty stuff. Just think of that puddle the forms under your car when the A/C is running and you are parked. Not all the water makes it out of that drain.
If it gets worse or not to your liking, some people will spray Lysol into the HVAC air intake by the bottom of the windshield with the A/C running on high with fresh air. I haven't done this so I can't vouch for it but it does make sense as Lysol is an antibacterial.

Thank you for the info. My previous car was also an 07 Camry and I had some of the same issue. I did do the Lysol spray (the guy I went to in the service dept suggested it) and it worked very well.

Thanks for posting back about using the Lysol and it worked. I think I'm going to be doing this pretty soon.
