I have a 89 Camry with the 2.5 just bought the car and it will crank and run but cuts off if you give it gas and put it in gear haven't done much looking into it yet. Didn't know if someone has already had this problem.

 

Check ignition coil, ignition wires, distributor parts, plugs.
