Default 94 camry 6 cyl. Cold start problem

have a 94 camry with the 6 cyl engine. When cold it will absolutely not start. If i put a heater under it over night, or if its above like 70 degrees F, it starts, runs crappy until operating temp, then runs great. I cleaned the iac valve, even went to the salvage yard and got another one, cleaned it and put it on. Replaced temp sensor, mass air flow sensor, vacuum lines, and fuel pressure regulator. Still same problem. Check engine light comes and goes. Can someone please help me out?

The temp sensor replaced was the ETC sensor for the computer?

How long does the check light stay on?

Is the engine getting fuel and ign spark when cold?

Does this engine have a distributor or does it have cam/crank sensors?

Thank you for replying. The temp sensor is for the temp of the antifreeze. Its on the passenger side of the engine on top. The check engine light varies. Yes its getting fuel and spark and it has cam positioning sensor which was also replaced.

Also sometimes, if i let it sit and idle too long, it runs crappy. I have to slowly accelerate or it cuts out.

Try to read any codes present.

Note that this year and engine type is an ODBII hybrid. See link below:

The P0300, P0302 and P0303 codes are for misfires

The P0340 is for the camshaft position sensor. Check out this sensor (and wiring/connector) as a problem sensor can cause all of your engines issues..

So, i ordered a camshaft position sensor. But im wondering if this part is temperature sensitive and would it be affected by the cold and then work once it is warmed up?

The sensor is already temp sensitive. By design the sensors resistance changes with temp. This change is normal as long as its within design specifications. If outside the specs then there can be problems.

Ok, so i replaced the camshaft positioning sensor and used the diagnostic tester to clear the codes. It still runs like crap when its first started until it gets to normal operating temp. Then it runs good so far. I havent driven it very far though..
