Default 94 Camry just stops running

The car in question will just stop dead after about 10 minutes running. IF we let it sit for 10-15mins it will start up just fine but repeats the process.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!

V6 or 4 cylinder?

Stops at idle, when driving, etc, hot or cold?

Looks like a may just have been a fuel filter after all.. Lucky!!

When I first started on this I thought my wife said it sputtered and died so I was looking at fuel line business, so I bought a fuel filter, but didn't install it when I saw the symptoms for myself. Well out of a whim I decided to install the filter. Funny thing after it died I unhooked the top fuel line and it wasn't under any pressure like it should be. It's been running fine ever since. Thanks!!

Ok, I'm bringing this back up. This has been a problem on and off for a few months. I was able to get a code reader and I'm getting a 1300 error. Which is a ignition/mis-fire code. When toying with this I disconnected the igniter and hooked it back up among a few other things and it started running normally again. Then after 2 weeks it's back to acting up. I get a used igniter it works again for 2 weeks then I just unhook the igniter and again we get 2 weeks of running out this. Any one have any thoughts on this? One thing that seems unusual is the igniter is getting really hot. That doesn't sound right. Does it??

Check plugs, plug wires., coil plus distributor cap and rotor.

Excess gap between rotor and cap will cause the coil to work harder.

The plug wire resistance can increase over time, should be 25K ohms or less. Also check the coil wire if it is not built into the distributor.

Worn plugs take more energy to fire.

The coil body can crack resulting in ign problems.

Operate the engine at night looking for signs of ign system insulator breakdown problems as shown by a blue glow around ign components.

Thanks for your replies!!

This car has a coil for each plug, no rotor, things I'm not familiar with at all. The igniter I'm guessing controls the firing sequence..
