95 2.2 no start

Thumbs down 95 2.2 no start

Hi,replaced head gasket,timing belt,water pump,tensioner,idler pulley,cam and crank seals.The engine is a 95 2.2,it has good spark,fuel,compression,when cranking over it shows 7.5 btdc and it will not start,doesnt even try to fire.Whar am I doing wrong?Any help would be great. Thanks,Mark

Good spark means a spark able to easily gap 1/2 inch of air.

If the engine ran before the work then would recheck all electrical connections such as IAC, TPS, MAP, all VSV's. Vacuum hoses including MAP, fuel pressure regulator (if equipped) plus cam/crank belt timing. If you removed the plug wires at the cap recheck order of installation. Basically recheck everything you removed when taking the engine apart.

If possible check fuel pressure.

Even though the timing shows OK, have your tried rotating the distributor (but not before your make its current location to bring it back where it was)?
