Question ABS code 36

Code 36 popped up on my 1995 Toyota Camry- V6- open circuit in right front or left rear speed sensor circuit- does this mean the speed sensors need replacing? What is your past experience with this code 36? thanks!

Or there is a open circuit in the wiring for the sensor or problem with ECU.

Check sensor ohm resistance between sensor terminals when unplugged. Should be 0.6–1.8k ohm.
Measure resistance between sensor terminals and body ground. Should be 1M ohm or higher.

Checked the resistance with the front right and rear left - both checked out fine- all the wires looked good. No metal filings or rust on either sensor- what do you suggest next? Thanks!!

Check left front as can be same code depending on who made the ABS.

Make sure the ohm reading is steady and does not start to increase with time.

Good call! Did a little more research today- found out my 95 Camry is a Kentucky made car which comes with a Bosch ABS system as opposed to the Denso with the Japan made Camry's.
Code 36 is actually the front left speed sensor. Tested it tonight and it is bad! Just need a new speed sensor- problem solved!!!!

Yes, Toyota used different part vendors having different diagnostic specs.

Great job, thanks for posting back with the fix.
