Hey guys, new here. So i just bought an 07 camry. I was driving and stsrted hearing knocking. I shut it down, and had it towed home. I pulled the valve cover and found this broken piece of metal around the chain erea. Does anyone know what this is? it was round and beveled. Inclosed is a few pictures. One side is flat the other side is beveled. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

It may be the crown for the spark plug tube. The valve cover mates to the crown to seal out the engine oil.
