Default A/C question

I have a 94 Camry DX and just yesterday after I press the A/C button it starts flashing.
It does not blow very cold air.Is the light a "warning" lamp that there is a problem or just no freon in the system?

Default RE: A/C question

the reason the a/c button starts to flash is because the a/c compressor is not engauging witch is either a excissive clearance in the a/c clutch assy or low on refrigerant triggering the low pressure switch. yes their is a problem and the most likely is low on refrigerant (freon is no longer used only r134a).

I did just have the timing belt and water pump changed the other day.
Maybe when he put it back together he left excessive clearance in the a/c clutch assembly?

i dought that, when u do a timing belt on these cars u never touch the a/c compressor u dont have to remove it or any thing my best guess would be it was low on refrigerant.

Finally got a chance to look under the hood.
The connector for the compressor was disconnected most likely when the timing belt was done.
A/C blows out cold now. Thanks for the help.
