check engine light
Hello. My son drives a wonderful 96 Camry. We have just had all the belts, hoses, tuneup, etc replaced. Also, we have had all the oil leaks repaired. We had the transmission serviced and new seals put on. Now the check engine light has been on for a month but the car is running perfectly. How do we get the light to go off? I can't find the directions in the owners manual.
If the light is on, a troublecode(s) is stored. The best advice is to have the codes downloaded. Depending on the state you live in, autoparts stores may do this for free or charge a small fee.
Removing the EFI fuse for a few minutes might clear the codes. Depends on the year of car. Fuse in one of the engine compartment fuse boxes.
