Difference in 94 and 95 suspension?
Is there any reason I'm seeing shocks/springs have different item numbers for 94 and 94 camrys? I thought they were pretty much the same cars? Can anybody help me out?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Struts and spring should be the same with same engine and body type.
The V6 and 4 cylinder engine cars have different parts plus there may be a difference between the coupe/sedan and wagon parts.
Compare like cars with each other, not Camry year in general.

I appreciate the help but I'm looking for a more definitive answer. I'm going to be purchasing two front shocks online from eBay. From what I've seen V6 and 4 cylinder have the same part #'s but there are different part #'s for 94 vs 95.
Help please!
Can you provide more specifics on your car and what struts you are looking at to allow a comparison?
The 1994/95 struts will bolt up to either year, this is a given.
Don't have the OEM part numbers to compare but many aftermarket struts makers list the same P/N between years. Still some aftermarket P/N's differ between years as you state.
Can only assume this how the part was originally listed, not that it will fit say a 94 and not a 95 as the suspension is the same. Thus the part listing may be different but the part will still fit the other year.

Here's 1994 shocks/springs being sold:
Front Pair Complete Strut Shock Coil Spring Quick Unit | eBay
Here's 1995:
Front Pair Complete Strut Shock Coil Spring Quick Unit | eBay
Same seller, different part #'s and different prices. I emailed the seller. He told me that apparently suspension changes were done 94/95. This is why there is a difference. However, he didn't seem to be too sure as well.
Thanks

The confusion may be manufacturers such as Monroe and a few others lists the same P/N for both years. These manufacturers may have designed the part to work with both years while others designed the part to be year specific.
The strut assy will fit both years but could be issues with the bracket design that holds the brake line to the strut or something else.
Suggest if you want a bolt up part to buy the part listed for your year of car even if there is a price differential. The 95 will fit but again there may be slight changes in the brackets, etc. Best to get the part the specific manufacturer states is the correct one for your year of car.
