Default Driving on highway - CEL blinked for 3-4 seconds

Hey folks,
I have an 09 Camry SE, 4 cyl, and I was driving at 65mph on the highway and I saw the CEL blink 4-5 times then go off. Hasn't come back on yet but only driven it a further 5-6 miles. I read its a misfire. I just full tanked the car yesterday.
I read it's a misfire, but if the light is off, will the code be there? Maybe bad gas? first time its happened.

Blinking is typically too rich a mixture.

When the check light was flashing did the engine miss, lose power, etc? Where you accelerating when the check light flashed?

A problem ignition component such a coil can cause this intermediate check light. If you have a code reader might check for pending trouble codes.

Thank you,

I did feel a very very slight change but it was almost unnoticeable, like I ran over small bump on the road for 2 seconds then everything went to normal.... I always get paranoid with CEL's. I was slightly accelerating from 65-68mph when it happened. Will there be a stored code even with no CEL?

As you have researched. A blinking check light should not be ignored as the result can be a damaged converter.

Would assume what you felt (the bump) is connected to the light blinking which is connected to some engine miss issue. Guessing an ignition problem.

If computer determines the engine problem can damage the converter, the light will blink. It doesn't mean a code will be stored. If the problem goes away, so may any stored codes.

However there are set codes (check light on) and pending codes (codes that may later turn the light on). A scan of the system will determine if any are present. Its a place to start looking.
