1990 camry 68,000 miles. When I am in drive at a stop the car hesitates and shakes. Toyota said it could be a bad head gasket. Along with that they said it would be 1900$ to replace. It does smoke a little but before putting that kind of money into it could it be somthing else.

 

has it ever over heated. or anything 68,000 miles sounds awefully low mileage for a head gasket to go. Check your oil for antifreeze and your antifreeze for oil and see if you have either. usually that would happen in the case of a bad head gasket.
